The ‘America’s Got Talent’ star is doing fine after having surgery.
It was judgement day on “America’s Got Talent.”
After 11 acts laid it all on the line during the second round of quarterfinals Tuesday (including a brush with fire), only five acts advanced to the semifinals.
Although Wednesday’s result show was filled with star power from “AGT” alums Darci Lynne and the Jabbawockeez dance crew, it was Kenan Thompson’s 6-year-old daughter, Georgia, who stole the show.
“I loved it! It was so much fun,” Georgia said while happily sitting on her father’s lap behind the judges’ desk. Thompson served as a guest judge, filling in for Simon Cowell as he recovers from breaking his back in an electric-bike accident.
Cuteness aside, host Terry Crews revealed how America voted. Here’s what happened:

The fans’ picks
The three acts that received the most votes automatically advanced.
Voices of Our City Choir, Crews’ Golden Buzzer winner, was the first act to move forward. No one was happier about that than Georgia.
“We’ve been watching you for a while and my daughter was singing that ‘Sounds of the Sidewalk’ for weeks, it seemed like,” Thompson said, referring to the group’s audition performance. “It was a touching experience to re-watch every single time. I understand why (Crews) gave them the Golden Buzzer.”
Bad Salsa joined the choir in the safe zone soon after. The dancing duo, who joined the results show via satellite from India due to pandemic travel restrictions, said they were “really emotional” because “we tried our best and impressed America.”
“I wish I could hug you guys,” Heidi Klum said.
Singer Daneliya Tuleshova also advanced. “You are perfection. Don’t change anything … because it’s flawless,” Sofía Vergara exclaimed as the 14-year-old burst into tears.

Spyros Brothers (variety act), Alexis Brownley (dog act) and Jonathan Goodwin (daredevil) finished in the middle of the pack and were on the brink of elimination.
The three acts went head-to-head in a live voting round for the “Dunkin’ Save,” where fans had the opportunity to rescue only one performer. Whoever received the most votes in a 30-minute flash round would move on.
“This is apples and oranges. Your acts are not comparable. You cannot compare them,” Howie Mandel said. “I don’t think one is better than the other, but America will.”
In the end, viewers saved Spyros Brothers. “Thank you so much for not knocking any of our teeth out. You are amazing. You are champions,” Klum said to the emotional duo.
But the results weren’t over just yet. The judges had the chance to save either Brownley or Goodwin.
“This is a tough decision,” Thompson said before voting for Brownley. Klum picked Goodwin and Vergara agreed: “I can’t wait for you to make me suffer.”
Mandel followed his gut and picked Brownley, which meant a tie. So the act that received the most overnight votes would advance. It was Goodwin who burned brightest.
The five acts with the fewest votes – The Shape (dance group); Vincent Marcus (impressionist); singers Bonavega, Kameron Ross and Kelvin Dukes – were eliminated.
Brownley was also sent packing.
“America’s Got Talent” will return Aug. 25 for the third quarterfinals round (NBC, 8 EDT/PDT), where 11 more acts will try to blow America away to advance to the semifinals.
Next week’s performers include Alan Silva (acrobat); Malik Dope (drummer); Annie Jones (singer); Bone Breakers (contortionists); Dance Town Family (dance group); Sheldon Riley (singer); Max Major (magician); Thomas Day (singer); and Usama Siddiquee (comedian).
As if the competition were not already stacked, next week’s field will also include two Golden Buzzer winners: singer Cristina Rae (Klum) and dance group WAFFLE Crew (Cowell).
