Amazon has offered to help the Biden administration with the rollout of coronavirus vaccines. Biden wants 100M vaccinations within his first 100 days.
Amazon has unveiled new details of its HQ2 project, which will include a structure inspired by the shape of a double helix, which forms the structure of DNA.
The proposed second headquarters based in Arlington, Virginia, will include 2.8 million square feet of office space spread across three 22-story buildings, Amazon said in an announcement Tuesday.
Along with the three buildings is a fourth one called the Helix, which will feature “two walkable paths of landscaped terrain that will spiral up the outside of the building,” The Helix will also include multiple alternative work environments for employees along with plant life native to the region.
“The natural beauty of a double helix can be seen throughout our world, from the geometry of our own DNA to the elemental form of galaxies, weather patterns, pinecones, and seashells,” said John Schoettler, vice president of global real estate and facilities at Amazon, in a statement.

Similar to its giant glass “Spheres” structure in Seattle, the Helix will open to the public for tours several weekends a month.
The building will be part of a 2.8-acre space which will feature an amphitheater, retail pavilions, restaurants and even a dog run.
Construction of the second headquarters started in January 2020. As part of the deal to stake a home in northern Virginia, Amazon has pledged to create 25,000 jobs and invest $2.5 billion in the region. The company said it has more than 1,600 employees and over 600 jobs open in Arlington.
